I pivoted from one company to 50 grit last minute which was a huge schedule change but for the best! They are installing new hardwood floors and tying the new flooring to our existing hard wood floors. It looks seamless. We are in the middle of the entire process and will update at the end. Second story has its first coat on the new install. Entire team has been nothing but polite and respectful to us and our home. They really take pride in their work and check in with us daily. The craftsmanship and love for the trade is evident. Thank you Josh, Will, Chris, Medhi, Kelly and Bill. Our first introduction to 50 Grit Flooring occurred in the spring of 2025. The company was subcontracted during a major renovation to provide an oak hardwood floor in the bedroom of a new addition. This newly installed floor was to directly interface with the original hardwood floor of an adjacent room in our 90-year-old colonial home. In brief, the end result was stunning in the quality of the wood itself, the workmanship of the installation, and the blending of the new floor to the original. Having been absent during this project, we got to appreciate the quality end product of this company, but not the people. That was to change in a second project, later in the year, when we hired 50 Grit directly to provide a laminate floor in a former bedroom/ bathroom floor that had been completely carpeted by the original owners. Steve, our initial contact in sales, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in providing guidance for our selection of both product, pattern and color for the new laminate. Matt, in management went out of his way to meet our time deadline, in spite of a pivot in project from installation of laminate to the refinishing of a pinewood floor! John, assigned to remove the carpet and clean the area, informed us, despite our initial belief that the room was actually furnished not with underlayment with old but serviceable wood flooring! That revelation brought the carpentry team into the picture to refinish the existing floor. Dustin coordinated the efforts of fellow craftsman Spencer, and apprentice Medhi to remove existing furniture, carry out repairs of the old flooring where needed and deal with surprises. Like the presence of a marble base under the existing toilet in the bath, which required refurbishing to coordinate with the wood plank flooring. Dustin expertly schooled us on the intricacies of sanding, repair, wood grains, stains, colors and finishes to guide decision making. That well-tuned team accomplished much in a few days. The refinished floor was outstanding and reflected the talent and skill of these individuals. Equally important, throughout the process, every attention was paid to the care of our home in the moving and use of heavy equipment and concern was made for our safety and comfort during the project. Dustin and Spencer even tag-teamed visits over the weekend going the extra mile to ensure that our timeline was adequately met. Each and every one of the talented individuals from 50 Grit with whom we dealt, was courteous, personally delightful to work with, respectful of our property, and met the highest expectations for craftsmanship. In summary, if you’re searching for the whole package of personal attention, quality workmanship, and superior results, look toward 50 Grit Flooring. You will find no better.

I would highly recommend 50 grit. It was amazing how little dust and mess there was. An added bonus was they were so kind to our dog too!

Look no further. This is the absolutely the best flooring company on the planet. Besides doing the greatest flawless work, they will move the furniture for a nominal fee. Before I found them, and we've used them 6 times, I priced other companies and all of them said that we would have to hire a mover. Nothing I wanted to do, scared what would happen to our furniture. We were so lucky to have Josh here with almost every job. Josh now owns the company which is wonderful. We have had other people from the company and they're all wonderful. We started with them having our solid teak inlay sanded, stained, and many coats of polyurethane. The floor never has to be waxed and water and my German Shepherds drool just wipes right up. The next thing we did was to have 2 more rooms where we still had wall to wall carpet taken up and the teak under it refinished. The final job was to put new engineered hickory hardwood in a long hallway and the Master Bedroom. We're done. They made it as painless as possible. Use them you won't be sorry.

Highly recommend 50 Grit Flooring! Communication with Josh was always prompt and efficient via email, and their team even moved our furniture, a lifesaver. Eugene and Spencer worked on our original 1960s floors and truly brought them back to life. Communication with Eugene was such a breeze. I took my time choosing the right stain, and they were so patient, testing multiple swatches until we found the perfect fit. With our red oak, I wanted to cancel out as much as I can the natural red tones, so we went with a 1:1 mix of Early American and Gray. The results are beautiful, we couldn’t be happier!

5 Stars is not enough for this company's review!! 50 Grit Flooring was highly recommended by their competitors...and that says it all!! We decided to replace our worn out carpet in our Great Room with red oak herringbone hardwood stained in Bona Antique Brown. Josh, the owner, and Eugene did their magic and the European flair that I envisioned came to life, and beyond anything I even anticipated! They went over and beyond with strong communication throughout the process and worked long hours for completion. We also had them replace our carpeted stairs with hardwood. We recommend them highly!

but this job deserved one!! We had our 80 year old peg wood floors finally refinished. Josh provided color samples that were sanded and stained on the actual floor. 50-G offers a furniture move option for a very reasonable price. Other companies sort of said, “I know this company” that could help with that. Offering this service made it so much easier to get this part of the process done! I got 3 bids, 50 Grit was in the middle of the pack. I also saw the incredible work they did on my friend Julie’s patterned new lay floor in a 200 year old house. The tedious detail! Craftsmanship is not dead!! Thank you guys, you are terrific!
